I'm a working creative professional before I'm a developer — twenty-plus years as a web designer, and twenty-plus behind the camera shooting portraits and events. heARTapps exists because of that, not despite it: the rebus heart in the logo is the same one I drew for heART Web Design back in 2015. I build software the way I approach a shoot or a layout — by feel, by craft, and by actually having lived the problem I'm solving.

Each app starts the same way: something in my own working day — as a designer, as a photographer — is slightly, repeatedly annoying, and no existing tool fixes it the way I actually need it fixed. So I build the one I wish existed — small, fast, native, and focused on that one thing. When it's good enough that I reach for it every day, it's probably worth sharing.

There's no venture money behind any of this, and that's the point. No investors means no pressure to bloat the apps, track you, harvest your data, or bury a feature behind a subscription. The apps are free to try; the ones worth keeping are honestly priced, once. That's the whole business model — and I like it that way.
